Developer Seeks To Bring New Pizza Restaurant To Wentzville Bluffs

June 7, 2017

WentzvilleBluffs-678x381The developer of the Wentzville Bluffs retail development area has submitted plans to the cityfor a multi-tenant building with a pizza restaurant on one side.

The site for the proposed building is on Highway Z, adjacent to a lot where a new Burger King has been approved for construction. The developer has not yet identified the pizza restaurant that would occupy the space if the plans are approved. The site plan shows a 6,000 square foot retail center with drive-through lanes on both the north and south sides.

Initially, city officials had expressed some concerns over the lack of room for menu boards and over traffic problems that could be caused by vehicles lined up in the drive-through. The developer noted however that only the north side was going to be a restaurant, and that the drive-up window would only be for pick-up of orders placed online or on the telephone.

The planning and zoning commission held a public hearing on the proposal at their meeting Tuesday night and recommended approval of the site plan.   The issue will now go to the Wentzville Board of Aldermen for their approval.
