2mayor-low-res-no-logoArea residents are asked to say a special prayer for Truesdale Mayor Murray Bruer.

Bruer underwent surgery at St. Louis University Hospital on Tuesday after falling ill with cancer that was found in his esophagus.  Truesdale City Clerk Mary Lou Rainwater says this is the third bout with cancer for Bruer, who is 76 years old.  He underwent a procedure to insert stents into his esophagus to allow him to eat and drink. Bruer returned home after the surgery and Rainwater says he is determined to continue his duties as mayor.

Rainwater said many members of the community have called to express their support and the city is asking for prayers for the Mayor, who as Rainwater noted is always working not just for Truesdale, but for the entire area.
