22-year-old Demetry A. Wheeler is charged with first-degree kidnapping, two counts of first-degree burglary and third-degree domestic assault, as well as violation of a protection order. His bond was set at $250,000 cash-only.

Authorities say that Wheeler allegedly entered the victim’s home on Morgan Trail Court in Warrenton in the early morning hours of June 4. The woman had been granted a protection order against Wheeler several days prior to that. He allegedly used the victim’s laptop to send her messages while she wasn’t home and then left. He then returned the same night after the victim came home and allegedly took her phone from the bathroom while she showered, so that he could see who she was talking to. A witness called 911 when she saw Wheeler in the home and he was arrested, and the victim’s phone and a key to her house were found in his possession. Wheeler was taken to jail and later released after posting bond. But, the same night he was released, police received a 911 call and witnesses said Wheeler had returned and abducted the woman. When police arrived on the scene, they heard a female yelling for help and saw Wheeler carrying her away. After a short chase, Wheeler dropped the victim and he was apprehended and taken back into custody.
